In the Throne-Room – Series

Love is the ONLY way to sustain the full spectrum of life and live a meaningful life. By remaining in HIS LOVE we experience continual Heaven on Earth, embracing all aspects of life, both the highs and the lows, with love and gratitude.

Different Ways of Love:

  1. Storgé – what we feel for things comfortable and familiar
    1. Patriotism – love for same culture, people, country.
  2. Eros or desire, passions. 
    1. Sexual
    1. Personal pleasure
    1. Honor, power, wealth, friends, knowledge, comfort
  3. Romantic, in loveness. Directed to significant other. (Look to another)
    1. Self-forgetfull, selfless
    1. Sacrificial
    1. Martyrdom
    1. Garden needs tools to cultivate, duty, works
  4. Friendship (philia) 
    1. Side by side focal point common denominator
    1. God’s city, holy nation culture. 
    1. Enjoy mutual presence
    1. Doing things together
    1. Love each other’s virue
    1. Aristotle – utility, pleasure, virtue
  5. Admiration 
    1. God 
    1. A person
    1. Art, music, performance, fruitfulness
  6. Justice, virtue, rightness, holiness
  7. Goodwill, favour, mercy, grace
  8. Goodness, excellence, splendour, glory, beauty
  9. Attention (moments) 
  10. Presence, all of what and who I am – you have all of me, surrender. (permanent) 

The Distorted LOVE of the WORLD – 7 deadly sins: 

1. Autonomy, disguised as freedom (Pride)

2. Self-esteem, disguised as respect (Vanity)

3. Technologism, disguised as power (Greed)

4. Lust, disguised as pleasure

5. Sloth, boredom, and passivity, disguised as entertainment

6. Equality, disguised as justice (Envy)

7. Irreverence, disguised as creativity or originality (Wrath)

Godly Virtues 

  1. Humility
  2. Modesty
  3. Detachment / obscurity 
  4. Chastity
  5. Courage
  6. Meekness, contentment
  7. Piety
